Francesca Schiavone is on fire this week; she’s elminated Amelie Mauresmo and now today she has defeated Svetlana Kuznetsova at the Kremlin Cup.

Italy’s Francesca Schiavone produced her second surprise win of the Kremlin Cup on Friday, eliminating eighth-seeded Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia 6-3, 6-1 in the quarterfinals.

Schiavone, who routed second-seeded Amelie Mauresmo on Thursday,
broke once in the first set and twice in the second to beat the former
U.S. Open champion in 55 minutes. The Italian has never won a
tournament on the WTA Tour.
