HASSELT, Belgium - Top-seeded Kim Clijsters overpowered No. 4 Dinara
Safina to advance Saturday to the finals of the Gaz de France Stars
against Francesca Schiavone.Belgian Clijsters, the second-ranked player in the world, defeated
Russian Safina 6-0, 6-1 in their semifinal match. Schiavone of Italy
beat 16-year-old Michaella Krajicek of the Netherlands 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.In barely 50 minutes, U.S Open champion Clijsters showed off her
best strokes and backcourt agility to the delight of her home crowd at
the Ethias arena.Displaying such force with such ease against the 21st player in the
world solidified her status as one of the favorites to win the
season-ending WTA Masters next month in Los Angeles.
