Hingis reaches Grand Slam final in mixed doubles

Martina Hingis has continued her spectacular comeback run at the 2006 Australian Open by booking a spot in the mixed doubles final. Hingis and her doubles partner, Mahesh Bhupathi, defeated Australian hopefuls Paul Hanley and Samantha Stosur 6-3, 6-3 in the semifinals.

Although Hingis has won five Grand Slam singles titles and nine Grand Slam women’s doubles titles, she has never won a mixed double title at a major.

Hingis and Bhupathi will face Daniel Nestor and Elena Likhovtseva in the final match.
