Hingis wins Grand Slam title in mixed doubles

Martina Hingis has capped of an impressive two-week run at the 2006 Australian Open by winning the mixed doubles Grand Slam title with her doubles partner Mahesh Bhupathi. Hingis and Bhupathi defeated the pairing of Elena Likhovtseva and Daniel Nestor in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.
Although Hingis had previously won fourteen Grand Slam titles in singles and doubles, this was her first mixed doubles Grand Slam title.
