Sharapova to face Henin-Hardenne in Dubai Final

No. 3 seed Maria Sharapova will take on No. 4 seed Justine Henin-Hardenne tomorrow in the Dubai Duty Free Women’s Open Ladies Final.

Sharapova defeated No. 2 seed Lindsay Davenport in three sets only hours after her quarterfinal win over Martina Hingis. Davenport started the match off strong and took the first set 6-3, but in the end it was Sharapova who had the strength to close the match out in two more sets to end 3-6, 6-1, 6-3.

Justine Henin-Hardenne recorded a 6-2, 7-5 win over Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova in their semifinal match. Henin-Hardenne has yet to drop a set in this tournament.

Sharapova and Henin-Hardenne have only played each other four times in the past, with Henin-Hardenne leading 3-1.
