Davenport withdraws from the NASDAQ-100 Open

World No. 5 Lindsay Davenport has withdrawn from this week’s NASDAQ-100 Open tennis tournament in Miami, Florida.
Davenport, a former No. 1 in the world, was forced to withdraw due to a bulging disk in her back. She reached the round of 16 in last week’s Pacific Life Open before being upset by wildcard Martina Hingis in three sets.
Other withdrawals at the event include world No. 3 Justine Henin-Hardenne and Serena Williams.
