Venus and Serena pull out of the Family Circle Cup

Venus and Serena Williams have pulled out of next week’s Family Circle Cup in Charleston, South Carolina, citing the same injury story as in the past.
Venus and Serena have not played since the Australian Open and at this point, one has to wonder when they will be back. With both sisters suffering from injuries, it seems unlikely that they will want to endure the rigors of the clay court season. Personally, I’d be surprised to see them back on court before a tune-up to Roland Garros, if then.
World No. 6 Mary Pierce has also withdrawn from the Family Circle Cup due to a nagging foot injury.
