Petrova wins 3rd career title at Amelia Island

World No. 7 Nadia Petrova took the tennis trophy in yesterday’s Bausch and Lomb Championships ladies final in Amelia Island, Florida. Petrova, the first seed, defeated Italy’s Francesca Schiavone in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.
This marks Petrova’s second title this year and her third career championships win. She will head into next week’s Family Circle Cup as the No. 2 seed behind Belgium’s Justine Henin-Hardenne.
