Venus and Serena are USA’s Favorite Female Sports Stars

Venus and Serena Williams are at the top of a recent Harris Poll on America’s favorite female sports stars. Harris Interactive polling agency conducted the poll on 2,085 Americans over the period of May 9-16, 2006.
Though no female athlete broke into the top-10 this year, the American public has their favorites among them. The Williams sisters top the list with Venus in the number one position and sister Serena in the number two spot.

Apparently the general public does not care that Serena has only played thirty-one tennis matches since the end of the 2004 tennis season!
Maria Sharapova was listed as the No. 8 favorite female star, with Anna Kournikova at No. 9.
