Anna Kournikova inspired by Hingis’ Comeback

Former WTA Tour tennis player Anna Kournikova admitted yesterday that she has not completely given up hopes of returning to professional tennis, although her injured back continues to trouble her game.

“It would be so cool,” she said of the prospect of a return, before cautioning “at the same time I look at it realistically.

She is still unsure if, or when, she may be able to return to the sport full-time.

“Well, it’s very hard to say right now,” she told reporters.

Kournikova reached a singles high of No. 8 in the world during her eight-year career on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour.

Although she never won a professional singles title, she did win sixteen doubles titles, including two Australian Open ladies doubles trophies with Martina Hingis.
