Justine Henin-Hardenne clocked a 55-minute win today at Wimbledon, but it was not without some effort on the part of the third seed.
The 2006 Roland Garros champion raced past Ekaterina Bychkova of Russia 6-1, 6-2, but the match was much closer than the seemingly lopsided score.
Henin-Hardenne struggled with her serve and only managed to achieve a 64% first serve percentage. She racked up four double faults and committed sixteen unforced errors, four more than Bychkova. Henin-Hardenne’s stats are drastically different than the ones that her rival Amelie Mauresmo posted earlier in the day. Mauresmo raced through with a double bagel in her opening match and had a 89% serve percentage.
Justine Henin-Hardenne’s next opponent will be another Russian, Anna Chakvetadze in the third round.
