Serena Williams to face Anastasia Myskina in first round at Cincinnati

Serena Williams’ chances of making a successful comeback to the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour just got a whole lot smaller.
Second seed and current world No. 11 Anastasia Myskina has been drawn as Serena’s opening round opponent.
Serena may have a 2-0 record against Myskina, but playing a former Grand-Slam champion in her first match in six months is probably not what Serena had in mind. The match will take place on Tuesday night, July 18, in Cincinnati.
Her chances at beating Myskina are pretty slim, but on the flip side, Myskina is probably not too pleased about having to play Serena in her first match either, especially as a spot in the top ten is on the line at this Tier III event.

Wow! Is The Tennis Channel broadcasting this match??
I predict a 3-setter, still not sure who will win. I would put money on Serena pulling through….

It is not on the schedule for Tuesday night, as they are showing World Team Tennis, but that does not mean that they may not add it at the last minute. You might want to keep an eye on the schedule or at least flip on the tv to make sure.

Ladyanna, to my knowledge this match is not being broadcasted, but if I find anything out to the contrary, I will definitely post it.
