Venus Williams received one of the top honors in sports when she was honored with the 2006 ESPYs Award (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) for the Best Female Tennis Player in honor of her title last season at the Championships at Wimbledon.
The ESPYS, which aired last night on ESPN, had several Sony Ericsson WTA Tour players on their nominee list.

If Venus Williams won the ESPY for Best Female Tennis Player, these awards are obviously a complete joke. Venus- best female tennis player? Give me a break. I never watch the awards and after hearing this I glad I don’t. What drivel. If Venus is the “best” what does that make Mauresmo, Henin-Hardenne, Clijsters, Sharapova… I could go on. The Williams sisters had their brief moment in the spotlight but their time is past.

I wouldn’t say that Venus is nothing. Has any of those women won 5 Grand Slams? HELLOO……..
If they never win anything else they would’ve done better than those girls. You need to STOP Hate’in and wake up! Venus is still good, including her sister. They will be in the history books, I just hope your girls listed above will make it. The RESULTS don’t lie!
