Vera Zvonareva defeats Srebotnik in Cincinnati Final

Russia’s Vera Zvonareva defeated Slovenia’s Katarina Srebotnik yesterday in straight sets for the Western & Southern Financial Group Women’s Open title. Zvonareva, who moved up to No. 37 on today’s rankings, won in straight sets 6-2, 6-4.
Zvonareva didn’t take long to claim her first title in Cincinnati and second of the year. She needed just 56 minutes, overpowering and outmaneuvering Srebotnik who was trying to win her second career WTA Tour title.
