Zvonareva, Dechy, and Golovin advance at Stanford

Vera Zvonareva notched her second win over Katarina Srebotnik in just four days today at the Bank of the West Classic in Stanford, California. Zvonareva, who also defeated Srebotnik on Sunday in the final at Cincinnati, advanced to the second round with a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
France’s Nathalie Dechy came back from being bageled in the first set to defeat Maria Elena Camerin in three sets 0-6, 7-6(6), 6-3. Her countrywoman Tatiana Golovin also advanced, but with a much easier time in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 over No. 6 seed Ai Sugiyama.
