Kim Clijsters grabs spot in Bank of the West Classic Final

Defending champion and top seed Kim Clijsters booked herself a spot in the final of the Bank of the West Classic today in Stanford, California after defeating teenager Nicole Vaidisova 7-5, 6-2.
Vaidisova broke Clijsters’ serve twice in the opening set, but Clijsters came back to win the first set 7-5. Vaidisova’s game continued to slip in the second, and Clijsters easily held to win the match 7-6, 6-2.
It seems like it has ages since I saw one of Clijsters famous splits, but they were back with a vengeance during her match today against Vaidisova. Vaidisova used every shot in her tennis arsenal in hopes of throwing Kim off balance, but the world No. 2 was simply too good today.
Clijsters awaits the winner of the Patty Schnyder/Tatiana Golovin match that is still to come later this evening.
