Aces and Faults: National Tennis Center to be renamed after Billie Jean King

The United States Tennis Association officially announced yesterday that the National Tennis Center, the home of the US Open, will be renamed after tennis pioneer Billie Jean King. The formal renaming will take place during the opening night ceremony of the US Open later this month. (U.S. Tennis Center Named for Former Champion Billie Jean King)
Kim Clijsters, Maria Sharapova, Elena Dementieva, Patty Schnyder, Mary Pierce, Nicole Vaidisova, Martina Hingis, and Anna Chakvetadze all secured spots in the Acura Classic quarterfinals yesterday.
