Aces and Faults: Rogers Cup Final to be Played Today

The Rogers Cup final was postponed until today because of rain in Montreal. Martina Hingis will face off against teenager Ana Ivanovic for the Tier I trophy. (Order of Play) I have not heard anything definite regarding ESPN2’s coverage of the final, but if any of you know the details, please leave the information in the comments section below.

Doubles specialist Lisa Raymond is blogging for the WTA Tour this week from New Haven. (Lisa Raymond’s Player Blog)

Serena Williams has added a blog to her official website. It only has a few entries right now, but she does talk about her latest tournament in California. (Serena William’s Blog)

The Hawk-Eye instant replay system will make its Grand Slam debut at the US Open next week. In case you are not familiar with the new feature, you may want to take a moment to review the rules. (Rules for instant replay challenge system at US Open)

I read somewhere that ESPN2 will be showing the Rogers Cup Final at 1pm EST today. But given how unreliable they are, I wouldn’t swear to it 100%.

I envy all those who can take advantage of this / stay home and watch. (Although frankly, I’d rather be in New Haven later this week to catch Amelie in action!)

OK, I found the page I was referring to - my bad, it’s 4pm EST (1pm my time).

Here’s the URL to ESPN’s site where I foud the info:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tennis/news/story?id=2555680

“Monday’s match will begin at 2 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN2 at 4 p.m. ET or after the New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox baseball game ends.”

    HTH!

Maybe the Tennis Channel will replay the Ivanovic-Hingis match?? Or at least Navratilova-Petrova’s doubles win!
