NEW YORK — It looks like Ernesto will continue to move past the New York area so the skies may actually be clear of rain showers in time for tomorrow’s 11:00AM start. Lindsay Davenport has been bumped to the first match up on the Grandstand, as her third round match has been delayed by three days. She mentioned in her post-second round match press conference that the extra rest time was a blessing for her shoulder, so one can only imagine that she is feeling much better after another three days of rest.
In addition to Lindsay Davenport, Amelie Mauresmo, Maria Sharapova, and Serena Williams are scheduled to be on-court for the third round of ladies action from Flushing Meadows.
