The loss wasn’t a big surpise. Hope Lindsay changes her mind on this being her last US Open. It was a great tournment for her considering 2 weeks ago it looked like she would have withdraw with a shoulder injury and not play at all and being down two match points in the 3rd round she could’ve been beaten then. Also being out for 5 months before that.

yes, lindsay’s loss to justine is no surprise if not expected based on their previous head-to-head encounters. but lindsay’s grace in her every game, whether victory or defeat is always something to be admired and the character of a true champion. hopefully the younger tennis players follow her example. like any other loyal lindsay fan, i hope to see her play in the coming months till early 2007.

Coni totally agree with what you said and its the very reason I’ve been fan of Lindsay’s since 1994. When Lindsay calls it a career a lot of class is going to go with her and you now read about some of the up and coming American player and they say Lindsay is one of their tennis heros and role models and that’s totally good thing.
