Aces and Faults: Mary Pierce loses in first round at Luxembourg

Faults

Mary Pierce exited the FORTIS Championships 6-3, 6-3 in the first round at the hands of Alona Bondarenko. Pierce has won just eight matches this season and has seen her ranking slip down to No. 18 in the world. (Pierce crashes out)

Second seed Maria Kirilenko was stunned with a three set 6-3, 5-7, 7-5 loss yesterday from Vera Dushevina at the Hansol Korea Open Tennis Championships in Seoul. (Dushevina beats second seed Kirilenko at Korea Open tennis tournament)
