Kim Clijsters will return to tennis at Gaz de France Stars

Kim Clijsters has announced that she will be officially returning to action at the Gaz de France Stars tennis tournament in Hasselt, Belgium.
At the end of this week or early next week, I’ll have another medical check-up. The plans go ahead as scheduled though: I’ll be playing Hasselt. We’ll see what comes after that.

It will be great to have Kim back on the tour, and hopefully she will be able to return without any lingering effects from her wrist injury. She is still planning on calling it quits and retiring after next year, so she needs to make the most of the off-season before she starts her final season on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour.
The Gaz de France Stars is a Tier III tournament which Clijsters won in 2005 and will be held from October 30-November 5. Nadia Petrova, Nicole Vaidisova, and Dinara Safina are also included on the tournament’s entry list.
