Kim Clijsters is ready to return to the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour in a few weeks, but she may have given up on returning earlier than planned at Linz.
Clijsters, who has been out with a wrist injury since before the US Open, contemplated returning at the Tier II Generali Ladies Linz presented by Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberosterreich, but it now sounds like she will wait to come back, as originally scheduled, at the Gaz de France Stars in Hasselt, Belgium.
I’ll be increasing the workload, speed and power in the days ahead, without putting too much strain on the wrist of course. As it feels right now, I will be ready for Hasselt!
Unless of course I would start feeling something again. I’ll also continue doing physio in order to get the wrist as strong as possible.

The Gaz de France Stars’ website is still proclaiming that crowd favorite Kim will be the top seed in the tournament, but somebody needs to tell them that Nadia Petrova, who is listed on the entry list, passed Kim up when the new rankings were released on Monday.
