Glad it worked for you! ESPN's coverage does not start until 10 my time, so I'll probably be listening too.

One more thing . . .

Eurosport does provide great coverage - I know they sometimes do live audio (tennis) commentary at this link, but I’ve been listening to AO Radio a lot too.

You might want to check it out once the matches start and see if they are airing anything today.

I don't know what the high was yesterday, but I know at one point it was well over 100° Fahrenheit.

I've never been to Melbourne Park, so I'm not sure how hot it gets on the outside courts compared to the open stadiums, although it does sound like it gets REALLY hot inside of Rod Laver and Vodafone.

With the possibility of rain in the forecast, hopefully it will turn out to be a little cooler. They will definitely enforce the extreme heat policy if it gets too bad, but they really need to at least get the first round finished today!

Also, another thing, the weather forecast (so I hear) is 36 degrees out there. Isn't that almost as hot as yesterday? I would hope there's another extreme heat delay...

I'm getting Star Sports, I think it's the feed from Australia. I wish I had Eurosport, though, I LOVE Jo Durie.

Hi Chris,

Yeah - ESPN's coverage has been pretty lowsy already this year. They started off on my bad side when they opted to show Andy Roddick over the DEFENDING CHAMPION on opening day. UGH!

To be honest, I was kind of surprised that Maria pulled through. I know she's a fighter, but Pin was just two points from scoring the upset.

Other than Sharapova, the only other upset that surprised me, and it was a pleasant surprise, was Kaia Kanepi bumping off (28) Flavia Pennetta. She's really developing into a solid player, and I believe we'll be seeing some more good results from her during the year.

The women's side has been pretty predictable so far, but I think we'll see some upsets by the third round. Dementieva's vulnerable, not to mention Patty Schnyder, and you never know what Nadia Petrova may do.
