ESPN2 will begin airing coverage of the Pacific Life Open at Indian Wells, California on March 14.
(Please tell me that I am not the only person wondering why they are waiting until the last four days of the women’s event to start broadcasting the tournament?)

It’s just stupid that even though ESPN is not airing the matches starting this Wednesday, which is when the tournament starts, The Tennis Channel is not airing it either…
Don’t know what is wrong with the Tennis Channel, it’s either they are not getting permission from ESPN or somewhere else, or they just don’t want to show it…I think it’s the first one because I don’t see why TTC wouldn’t air it since they don’t really have any on except old stuff circulating.
It’s just strange that TTC usually only airs tournament coverage starting with the Semi-final and Final instead of the whole tournament…maybe it’s airing rights that they don’t have.
Any case, I like TTC.

The Tennis Channel should definitely be televising these matches starting today. I think that ESPN should have started on next Monday. Maybe push them to ESPN Classic.
If the USTA is truelly investing $10 Million on The Tennis Channel, they should have them cover this tournament from the beginning and also work on getting it on more Cable systems Please!
We don’t get the TTC here in the Northeast.

Nick, one reason why TTC may only air select matches is that occasionally they are not even on-site, rather broadcasting from a remote location. They’ve optioned the rights to use someone else’s feed and they just add the voice commentary. It is much cheaper than having a team at the location, but they are extremely limited in what they can show.
Vic, I’m not sure why they are only broadcasting partial coverage from Indian Wells - and according to the Pacific Life Open website, TTC is only showing ATP matches as well.

Do you have any video of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club as they sang on your court 3/13/07?
Thank you!
