Jim

I feel you mate.

Nick

I´m in Sweden so we don´t get ESPN here...wish we did. We get Eurosport who cover all the SLAMS except Wimbledon (can you believe it?) They also cover the finals of most Tier tournaments.

I think Charleston will turn out OK anyway with some great tennis from a pack of hungry YOUNG TOP guns and at least 2 nformer nr ones fending them off as best they can.

Peace

I feel bad also for the Family Circle cup organizers who I understand will be compensated to some extent for the drop-outs , but I feel worse for the spectators like my family who paid big bucks to see the big names. It's like buying tickets to a U2 concert but only getting the opening act...should be some compensation for the fan.

This reminds me of San Diego sometime back when all the players pulled out at the last minute...

You are right Gregan, I can't think of a Tier I event in the last few years where all the players showed up at once beside from Pacific Life/Miami.

Anyway, as for Serena, I hope she sticks with playing more tournaments...I'm getting p***** of at these player pulling out left and right.

You can't blame ESPN for not showing these tournaments...the Network used to show German and Italian Open, but they stopped.

Justine looks like Justine looks and I´ve seen these lip sores on her before. She has a respiratory problem but she has had this for quite a while, and won plenty of matches and tournaments with this condition as in Dubai and Doha. Justine and Serena are 2 of my absolute favorite players, and i´ve watched the final from Florida 5 times...the one who looked like she had a breathing problem was Serena. BTW, Justine deserved to win that match, however a tennis match is over when it´s over :) ...lets hope they meet in Rome, Paris, Wimbledon, and NYC and both stay healthy.

Gregan- hey man Justine was sick. Did you see the cold sores on the day of the Miami final. The girl is tough, and probably didn't want to give any excuse, but her skin condition gave it away.

I believe her about the respiratory problem - she didn't sound so great in those video interviews on the Miami website.

Tough schedule- IW and Miami back to back. Charleston has been very lucky all these past years when alot of the players didn't do IW and Mandatory Miami back to back or faded early in Miami leaving them fit for Charleston.

Nick

A few questions for you, if you don´t mind?

Name one other T1 tour where so many top ten players jumped off within one week of the tour start??

Maria S....If her "so called" injuries have been with her since BEFORE HK (December), why did she risk playing in all the tournaments since then? Her so stated "condition" needs rest and treatment. The last thing she should have been doing was irritating the injuries further by playing tennis. Do you agree?

Henin: can you, looking at the whole match with Serena point out to me one game where Henin looked as tho she had any form of respiratory problems? If Henin has such a problem that would inhibit her tennis...why get on the other side of the net from a HOT Serena in the first place? If she had won 6-0 6-0 She would already be in Charleston training, would you agree?

Finally, where were these respiratory problems when she was winning Dubai, and Doha???

Lastly, where is the PROOF of all these injuries to ALL these top 10 players???

Back to the original question, when was the LAST TIME so many TOP 10 players jumped off of a T1 tour within one week of the tour start??
I think it´s "SERENAITIS" sweeping the TOP TEN.

BTW, Both Ms Sharapova and Ms Henin are 2 of my favorite players :o)

Hmm, Gregan,

I don't think they're running from Serena, they are either injured or just faking it to take some time off.

Justine has breathing problem, she loves playing at Charleston, and she doesn't really care who she plays, win or lose.

Hingis just withdrew earlier so now just the Williams Sisters left...this is horrible for the organizers at Charleston, I feel bad for them. A few months ago, they were on the high, now they are on the down low.

Why don´t you investigate the "REAL" reason all of these top players are trying to HIDE from Serena. With 2 Slams coming up, they can run but they can´t hide. When the cats are away, the MICE will play....The cat SERENA is back.
