Who’s Up

Marion Bartoli (23/24) – Marion Bartoli is slowly working toward regaining her position inside of the top 20.

Gisela Dulko (34/50) – The only Argentine player inside of the top 130 jumped back inside of the top 35 after winning her first career title on Sunday.

Emilie Loit (36/41) – Loit pulled out of Budapest just before her quarterfinal match against Agnes Szavay, but still managed to grab 36 ranking points for a finish inside of the top 40.

Karin Knapp (81*/97) – Nineteen-year old Karin Knapp started 2006 at No. 123 and she has already vaulted inside of the top 85.

Sorona Cirstea (169*/325) – The seventeen year-old from Romania did not manage to bring home the trophy last Sunday at Budapest, but she still jumped to an impressive career high of No. 169.

Who’s Down

Martina Muller (42/35) – Muller lost a close, three-set match against Sorona Cirstea in the second round of the Budapest Grand Prix last week.

Sania Mirza (50/49 – Sania Mirza is trying to come back from a knee injury, but she is about to slide out of the top 50.

*Asterisk means that the player set a new career-high this week.
