A Quick Look at the Women’s Draw for the 2007 French Open

The seedings and main draw have been announced for the 2007 French Open, with two-time defending champion Justine Henin leading the women’s field.

Her road to a fourth Roland Garros title will not be easy, especially with the possibility of meeting 2007 Australian Open champion Serena Williams in the quarterfinals.

Maria Sharapova, who is not favored to win on clay in Paris, is in the same quarter of the draw as French long-shot Amelie Mauresmo.

2004 Roland Garros champion Anastasia Myskina is coming back to the Tour in Paris after being out for several months with a foot injury and could face her countrywoman and last year’s finalist Svetlana Kuznetsova in the second round.

Im happy to see Anastasia Myskina back, she probably won’t do much damage, but I’m happy that her injury is over…at least it seems like it.

Justine has a really tough draw with Patrova, Serena, and Jelena on her side. It would be an interesting Quarterfinal between Justine and Serena though.

I say Serena crashes everyone all the way to the semis brushing sister Venus aside and off to the final where she will drown Kuznetsova.Go Serena!

Well right now you better hope Serena gets through her first round against Pironkova, the girl that beat sister Venus in Aussie Open.

I think Serena will get past Pironkova easily, but I’m interested in seeing how Sharapova/Loit, Chakvetadze/Molik, and Mauresmo/Granville play out.
