With the start of Roland Garros only two days away, I’d like to take a few minutes to let everyone know what they can hope to see from On the Baseline over the next two weeks.
Latest Results at Tennis Ticker
Many of you may not have discovered OTB’s new sister site, Tennis Ticker, which features only top results and headlines. All of the big stories about Roland Garros will still be mentioned on our main site, but Tennis Ticker is a quick and easy way to keep updated with the latest news from Paris. Plus, Tennis Ticker has its own RSS feed.
Main Draw Preview
The selection of the 2007 Roland Garros draw will be held later today at 11:30 am Paris time.
Shortly after the main draw is released, On the Baseline will have an overview of the draw for the top fifteen seeds, in addition to any former Grand Slam champions that are seeded beneath No. 15 or unseeded. The draw preview will not only have the player’s first round opponent and their head-to-head record, but also potential matches to watch later in the draw.
In case you missed the news yesterday, the draw ceremony will also be displayed live on the internet.
Previews of Each Day’s Action at Roland Garros
On the Baseline will be featuring extensive daily previews from May 27 through June 9. Each preview will include commentary and picks for the key matches of the day, quotes, news headlines, and USA television listings. Best of all, this is also the spot where you can leave your own comments and picks!
Suspension of Aces and Faults and Open Forum Fridays
Thursday’s edition of Aces and Faults was the last until after Roland Garros, but don’t worry, the daily previews will provide much more extensive content. Open Forum Fridays are also suspended, with the exception of today’s special “Pick the Winner” edition.
Enjoy Roland Garros and thank you for reading On the Baseline!
