Faults

Fourth seed Elena Dementieva was knocked out of the International Women’s Open in a shocking fashion by France’s Marion Bartoli yesterday in two sets 6-1, 6-0.

Second seed Ana Ivanovic bowed out of the Ordina Open in straight sets 6-3, 6-1 yesterday to Daniela Hantuchova.

Correction: Anna Smashnova was erroneously listed as a withdrawal from Wimbledon a few days ago. The Israeli veteran has not pulled out of the tournament and secured a spot in the main draw after a spot became available due to a withdrawal.
