Retired Kim Clijsters Pregnant With Her First Child

Kim ClijstersIt has only been two months since Kim Clijsters hung up her tennis racquet and the former world number one is already on her way to fulfilling her dreams of adding two new titles to her resume - wife and mother.

Clijsters, who retired from professional tennis in May, has always spoken about how much she wants to have a family, and now with her marriage to American basketball player Brian Lynch and a new little one on the way, she’s not far away away from her goals.

Dad Lei (Leo) announced the news on his website, according to the AP.

Her father Lei Clijsters announced on his website that the couple would have a baby, adding that “if everything goes well, Kim will be a mom and I a grandfather next year.”

Lindsay Davenport, who announced her retirement five months before Kim, gave birth to her first child, Jagger Jonathan Leach, in June.

I hate to say I told you so. But I did. As soon as she announced her immediate retirement I had a feeling this was the case. And you dont usually annouce these things to the public unless you are about two or three months into your pregnancy and I believe her retirement announcement came two months ago. Mystery solved as to why the sudden retirement I guess.

Actually, WilliamsFan, the article says that Kim did not become pregnant until after she retired.
