Fortunately for the former top ten player, Vaidisova had only a mild form of the virus.

Only a month after her team announced that she would be withdrawing from Fed Cup and the subsequent American hard-court events, Nicole has been given the green light to begin preparing to return.

“Nicole is all right and we will start with light training,” said her step-father and coach, Alex Kodat according to Eurosport.

Currently, Vaidisova is at No. 11 on the rankings, but her ranking is expected to fall next week when her 2006 semifinalist points from the Acura Classic come off on Monday.
