Ana Ivanovic and Nadia Petrova will be contesting the 2007 East West Bank Classic final after Petrova advanced to the championship round by virtue of a walkover from top seed Maria Sharapova.

Sharapova, who advanced to the semifinals yesterday with a solid win over Elena Dementieva, defaulted from the tournament because of an injury.

Ana Ivanovic reached the final round after defeating her older countrywoman Jelena Jankovic in three close sets earlier on Saturday. Jankovic, the third seed in Los Angeles, blew two match points in the third set before Ivanovic came back to win 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.

This will be the sixth career meeting between Ivanovic and Petrova. Ivanovic leads 3-2, with her last win coming in the round of sixteen at Wimbledon.
