Svetlana Kuznetsova (2*/4) - Svetlana Kuznetsova’s hard work at the US Open awarded her with a new career-high of No. 2 this morning.

Anna Chakvetadze (5*/6) - Three Russians now reside inside of the top 5 thanks to Anna Chakvetadze’s semifinal finish at Flushing Meadows.

Serena Williams (7/9) - She suffered another disappointing quarterfinal loss to Justine Henin, but Serena Williams is slowly creeping back to the top of the Tour.

Venus Williams (9/14) - Venus Williams also fell to Henin, but still managed to join her sister inside the top 10.

Nicole Vaidisova (14/15) - The Czech teenager has had a tough summer, but with her bout with mononucleosis over, she may be able to rebound before the end of the season.

Shahar Peer (16/19) - Israel’s only player inside the top 100 is only one ranking spot away from tying her career-high.

Lucie Safarova (22/23) - Another Czech star, Lucie Safarova, is back to her career-high.

Agnes Szavay (23*/31) - The way Agnes Szavay is competing, she may reach the top 15 by Roland Garros.

Agnieszka Radwanska (30*/32) - Knocking out Maria Sharapova at the US Open pushed Radwanska to a new career-high inside the top 30.

Victoria Azarenka (38/41) - The 2007 mixed doubles champion with Max Mirnyi is only eight points away from her career-high.

Tamira Paszek (39/43) - Paszek defeated Francesca Schiavone and Patty Schnyder on her way to reaching the fourth round at the US Open.

Julia Vakulenko (41/50) - Julia Vakulenko won three matches in a row for the first time since May at the US Open.

Alize Cornet (68*/96) - The French seventeen year-old set a new career-high after qualifying for the US Open and reaching the third round.

Ahsha Rolle (82*/109) - Rolle skyrocketed into the top 100 after reaching the third round at Flushing Meadows.

Tsvetana Pironkova (97/130) - Pironkova played through the qualifying event and into the second round before running into eventual champion Justine Henin.

Bethanie Mattek (100/123) - The American fashion nightmare is barely back inside the top 100.

Who’s Down

Maria Sharapova (4/2) - Sharapova is defending a large amount of ranking points between now and the end of the season, so she will have to work hard for a top 5 finish in 2007.

Amelie Mauresmo (11/7) - Amelie Mauresmo has fallen out of the top 10 for the first time since 2002.

Lindsay Davenport (234/118) - Lindsay Davenport will be playing her first singles match of 2007 tomorrow in Bali.
