World No. 2 Svetlana Kuznetsova is scheduled to be the top seed at next week’s China Open in Beijing.
No. 3 Jelena Jankovic will be the second seed, followed by Amelie Mauresmo, Elena Dementieva, and Martina Hingis.
The Tier II hard court event was originally planning on having world No. 1 Justine Henin in the draw as the top seed, but the US Open champion pulled out of the competition because of exhaustion and asthma.
