Svetlana Kuznetsova Retires in Zurich Open Quarterfinals

World No. 2 Svetlana Kuznetsova retired on Friday in her quarterfinal match against Francesca Schiavone at the Zurich Open.
Kuznetsova, the second seed, was suffering from a right shoulder strain and retired while trailing Schiavone 6-3, 3-3 in the second set.
No. 1 Justine Henin and No. 9 Marion Bartoli are the only seeded players left in the Tier I tournament. Both have yet to complete their quarterfinal matches.
