Tuesday signals the start of the final tournament of the 2007 tennis season, the Sony Ericsson Championships.
Eight women will be gathering in Madrid with the goal of capturing the biggest prize in women’s sport.
Today’s Open Forum Friday question is:
“Who do you think will win the Sony Ericsson Championships?”
Over the next couple of days, I’ll be posting more about the Championships, including a look at all eight singles competitors and a preview of the round-robin draw once it is released. Also, don’t forget about our contest that begins on Monday!

Tough one.
I am also going with Justine, considering that she really is the standout player with no peer this season.
But anything could happen… most of the other girls have not played or not convincingly over the last couple of weeks…
I’d only count Chaki out who is clearly not in the form that she had this summer.
Will be a great week next week!!!

Alsacienne,
Have you seen the draw yet - it definitely looks like it will be a great week!

It’ll probably be Justine, but I’d love to see Serena get a confidence-boosting victory in the final.
The four semi-finalists:
Henin
Williams
Kuznetsova
Ivanovic or Sharapova

I’m going to go out on a limb and say Ivanovic! GO SERBS!!

Kuznetsova all the way!!!!!! You have to give her credit, she’s bound to finish on top of her group. She’ll have a good clash with Ivanovic, which she hopefully wins!

I want Jankovic and Anna to go through in the first draw, and Kuzy and Sharapova in the other draw.
I hope Jankovic is well rested and can win this whole thing!
