I wish I could get to see the Henin show.
There’s something about being number 1 that just doesn’t add up for me wrt Justine. Maybe watching this will give me – and whoever is like me – an upclose, insiders perspective.
I ‘ll do my best to find this channel, but my fear is it won’t be in english . Yikes!
What does not add up, Daxpin? Look at her record for 2007 alone. Does not need an insider to add it all up. Duh!!
Miguel,
No, I wasn’t talking about Justine’s performances on court
That’s unquestionable…
I just feel she just doesn’t command that “I am in charge of this turf” reaction from me yet – off court I repeat.
Does this have anything to do with being Belgian ? I mean is she huge in Belgium ? And their press ?
Or does this have to do with her seeming easyging personae as against a dramaQueen like Serena ?
Even Roger on the men’s court adds some off court flavour, and you can feel it, even if only his gait when walking…
Or am I the one that needs to self-inspect ?
Dapxin, I see where you’re coming from with this. Serena Williams exudes confidence, both on and off the court. Sharapova is the same way. Often we expect champions to look (and act) tough, bloodthirsty, and like you said, as if they are in charge all the time.
But with Henin, it is different. She’s completely changed the way we can look at the world’s best. Sure, she is the greatest player in the world right now, but you’d never know it by looking (or listening) to her.
It’s more of a quiet, subtle confidence.
There’s photos of this Justine tv special on her website. It looked like a very flashy tv show.
