Tennis players Nicole Vaidisova and Radek Stepanek are reportedly engaged to be married.
According to the Bradenton Herald, the Manatee County Clerk of Circuit Court has said that the pair applied for a marriage license on December 10.
Vaidisova celebrated her eighteenth birthday in April. Radek Stepanek turned twenty-nine last month.
The Herald also that Vaidisova’s agent at IMG Academies has not been available to comment.
Although no one in the Vaidisova or Stepanek camps has confirmed the Herald’s report, the fact that they have actually applied for marriage license does lend it credibility.
The laws of the State of Florida stipulate that a marriage license is only valid for sixty days, so their wedding may be in the very near future.
Stepanek was recently (as in less than six months ago) engaged to Martina Hingis, but they split up shortly before the US Open. Hingis retired from the Tour in November after testing positive for cocaine.

This is wild. Is there a secret reason behind this? Pregnant? Green card? Double dare? Tell me I’m not the only one thinking it. Unless of course they’re madly in love with each other… Gotta wait til the people involved say something official I guess.

this could be one of the most shocking tennis stories of the year! i never would have put them togther as a couple. and that age gap. maybe they have lots in common, besides both being Czech. i wonder what hingis thinks, if its true. but i dont think ill belive it until i hear something from one of them. its just too crazy.

I still don’t understand what women find attractive about Radek Stepanek. Seriously. He must have some major game off the court as well. I’m jealous!

i can’t belive!

I agree with Will.I.AM. What do women find attractive in Stepanek? Also, everyone realizes that she’s seventeen and he’s twenty-nine?
This is weird to me… but good for them?

Too wild for words. Both Czech. Think that has
something to do with it?

She was 18 last April, not that that matters.
Just ask Ivan Lendl’s wife. She was 14 when he
“took” her into his house.

Whoops, misread the information. She’s eighteen*. Guess that’s old enough…

I am a women and I don’t understand it either:-) But, maybe the guy has a really cool personality…

I second Nina’s comment
This is probably one of the most surprising things to happen all year and oddly enough, Hingis is once again connected to the situation. Who says the off-season is boring?!!?
I’m curious to see how this will affect both player’s careers, especially with the start of the new season right around the corner. This could definitely cut into those Melbourne Park plans for sure. Not to mention that Nicole is supposed to be one of the headlining players for Gold Coast.
Like I said above, according to the State of Florida’s marriage license website, the license expires in less than sixty days. Obviously, they could still play the Australian Open, but it’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out.

If thats true, what exactly is appealing about that fish boy? Seriosuly, his lips make him look like a bloody fish. Just doesn’t make sense. It’s one of the worst mixed doubles pairs i can think of. Althought hey do they opposites attract!

The wedding of our two tennis players won’t realize.Stepanek’s father told to journalists:”I’m currently with my son in Florida. They don’t marry, it’s just a nonsense.” Both players haven’t said anything about it. © Nicole Vaidisova On-Line

“Bradenton resident Nicole Vaidisova, the 12th-ranked women’s tennis player in the world, has filed papers for a marriage license with men’s professional tennis player Radek Stepanek, according to information received from the Manatee County Clerk of Circuit Court.”
The Court doesn’t lie…so something is up here…are they pulling a Hollywood stunt?

I hope that this will never happen. HE was engaged with Hingis and now he want to marry after such a short time sweet Nicole? Uih.

GO Radek! Marry her before she is old enough to come to her senses. If I looked like him and had a chance to score a hottie like Nicole, I would be trying to get her down the aisle in warp speed.
