The first draw of the 2008 tennis season has been released, the first tournament begins in only a matter of hours Down Under, and On the Baseline wants your feedback on how we can continue to improve our website during the upcoming year.
Everyone, feel free to join in today’s Open Forum Friday discussion. Thank you very much for your support in 2007!
On another note, I hope everyone enjoyed our players to watch series. I’d like to personally thank all the players, journalists, and bloggers who participated.
I’ll be posting a preview of the Mondial Australian Women’s Hardcourts and ASB Classic tournaments later this weekend.
Happy New Year!

You already do a great job with on the baseline. It’s a great site for results and news I wouldn’t change it too much. Your site was one of the few tennis site that interested me over the off season as it had updated content.
Keep up the great work. I know this isn’t much of a help for your original question but I wanted to let you know what I thought anyway.
More on S Peer
please!
Just keep up the good work! That’s it!
Thank you everyone for your kind words! I really appreciate them.
I’ll certainly keep everyone’s suggestions in mind during the next year!
You’re doing a great job with the site (I’m on here at least everyday). If I had one suggestion, I would say you should incorporate more fun stories. I saw one women’s tennis blog that had a series of posts featuring pictures of the tennis players when they were children. It was very entertaining as a fan to see something like that. There are so many beautiful women on the tour who model in their spare time and have other interests off court. You could feature a photoshoot, ad campaign, or fashion show of a particular player, just to make the site a little more entertaining.
Another thing, I think pictures next to each headline on the first page would do the homepage some good. It looks plain without pictures. Although I must admit that the featured articles mechanism you have implemented is a great step forward.
Great ideas Will! Thanks – I’m working on adding the images to the front page now.
Yeah guys!
You do a great job. In the off season I have been checking out your site now and then and will sure keep it up.
I think it would be great if you could bring up some real specialists who would like to drop a line every now and then with their opinion and analysis.
The variety you have shown through the off season is great. Justin had an incredible year but I would keep an eye on the lower lines as when the full schedule comes in, plus the olympics, the top players will reduce their apearences and some lower ranked players could flourish.
I also think it is nice to receive a more person to person point of view, getting to actually know the players and their opinion on the sport. The player blogs in the WTA site have been closely followed.
Pictures would defenitely be an extra.
I wonder if you would have enough info to occasionally have a “caught doing good” section…
Photos are always nice though I know that can get expensive….
Also, I wonder if you could incorporate a “help you to understand or clear as mud” column where you clarify a possibly confusing point from a match that might occur….or is that a confusing request?
Keep up the great job!
God Bless you!
Manex and Stewpot, thank you for the great ideas! We’ll keep them in mind for 2008.
For those of you that have asked for more pictures, I’ve been working with Voxant and The Newsroom for the last couple months regarding an updated player of the latest images from only the women’s Tour.
Now that the season has begun, we have launched a special image gallery slideshow, which is now available on the main page and also underneath the content on every story page. I hope you enjoy it!
