Serena Williams and Pam Shriver are among a host of movie, TV, sports, politics and pop culture stars participating in the 19th Annual Scripps Celebrity Super Bowl Poll.

Dozens of the most rich and famous people in the United States have attempted to pick the winner of Sunday’s Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and New York Giants.

The celebrity who picks the winning team and comes closest to predicting the score will win the Scripps Howard Super Sage Award trophy.

Former doubles Grand Slam champion Pam Shriver opted to stick with the safe pick of choosing the undefeated New England Patriots to win Super Bowl XLII, although she did have a few words for Bill Belichick, New England’s head coach.

“Patriots, 24-13,” said Shriver. “But I’m hoping for 17-14 in overtime for the Giants. New England is like the (Roger) Federer of football, but Federer does not have a head coach who cheats. In fact Federer does not have a coach, but if he did I am sure he would dress better than New England’s coach!”

On the other hand, Serena Williams is supporting the underdog Giants, and rooting for the younger Manning sibling.

“Giants,” picked Serena who did not name a final score, “because of Eli Manning being the younger brother.”

Super Bowl XLII will be played on Sunday, February 3 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona.
