Blast from the Past: Steffi Graf’s Marriage Proposal

Thanks to the internet, tennis footage from years past is now available for younger fans to enjoy for the first time. Also, it is no less appealing to the older fans who can reminisce about and remember the good ol’ days of tennis.
Beginning today, we’re launching a new feature at On the Baseline, Blast from the Past. Periodically during each month, we will post a video clip of a crucial moment in tennis history, a funny scene with a legendary star, a hard-fought trophy achievement, a tear-jerking speech, and more!
It is fitting that we start this new addition with an offering from one of tennis’ greatest players. Steffi Graf was not known for her humor, but she did provide one of the most memorable on-court interactions with the crowd.
