Four former Grand Slam champions are in the main draw, including recent Australian Open winner Maria Sharapova.

2. Svetlana Kuznetsova
3. Jelena Jankovic
4. Maria Sharapova
5. Anna Chakvetadze

8. Marion Bartoli

Highly anticipated first round matches include No. 9 Patty Schnyder vs. Tamira Paszek, No. 11 Dinara Safina vs. Katarina Srebotnik, and No. 12 Shahar Peer vs. Francesca Schiavone.

    Alice,

The Qatar Total Open’s seedings were based on last week’s rankings. So although Kuznetsova overtook Ivanovic this morning, she is still seeded at No. 2.
