Serena Williams Downs Venus, Will Face Schnyder in Bangalore Final

Serena Williams overcame a fierce assault from her sister Venus Williams on Saturday to reach the 2008 Canara Bank Bangalore Open championship match.
Awaiting Serena in her first final of the 2008 season is Switzerland’s Patty Schnyder.
Playing in their fifteenth career meeting, Serena outlasted Venus in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(4). Serena now holds a slight 8-7 head-to-head record over her older sibling.
Schnyder advanced into the final first on Saturday with a solid 6-3, 6-4 win over China’s Yan Zi.
