Serena Williams Wins 2008 Bangalore Open Trophy

Nine-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams won her first title of the 2008 Sony Ericsson WTA Tour tennis season on Sunday at the Bangalore Open.
Playing for the first time in Bangalore, third seed Williams defeated fourth seed Patty Schnyder 7-5, 6-3.
China’s Peng Shuai and Sun Tiantian defeated Chinese Taipei’s team of Yung-Jan and Chuang Chia-Jung in a 6-4, 5-7, 10-8 match tie-break victory for the women’s doubles title.
