Top Four Seeds Reach Pacific Life Open Semifinals

Jelena Jankovic completed the 2008 Pacific Life Open semifinals on Thursday after Lindsay Davenport retired with a back injury.
Jankovic, the third seed at the Tier I tournament, was leading 6-2 when Davenport could not continue playing.
Earlier in the day, top seed Ana Ivanovic powered into the semifinal round with a solid 6-1, 6-4 win over twelfth seed Vera Zvonareva.
Second seed Svetlana Kuznetsova and fourth seed Maria Sharapova reached the final four on Wednesday.
Ivanovic will face Jankovic and Kuznetsova will play Sharapova on Friday for a berth in Sunday’s championship match.
