Question MarkWhat if you could play a doubles match with any WTA Tour player, past or present?

Tell us who you would choose in this week’s edition of Open Forum Friday!

“If you could pick a partner from any tennis era to play with in doubles, who would you select? What surface or tournament would you choose?”

I think we’ll see some fascinating answers as we take a look at many of the best doubles players of all time. I plan to post my own list of dream partners during the early part of next week.

Everyone, have an excellent weekend and don’t forget to watch the Sony Ericsson Open final between Serena Williams and Jelena Jankovic on Saturday!

I’m fan of big servers, so my first mixed doubles choice would be Venus Williams. She would make everything so easy. Her serve would allow me some easy putaways, and her long wingspan at the net, she could cover any ball. Of course we would play at Wimbleson because thats my favorite tournament and she hasn’t done so bad there.

As far as guys go, Goran Ivanisevic is my top choice. I love watching him play. Pete Sampras would be my second choice, and Pat Rafter would be my third choice. All on grass at Wimbledon.

My gut tells me to pick Ana Ivanovic, as I’d love to spend some time with her. But if I wanted the win, I’d go with Ai Sugiyama. She’s got game, on any surface.

That’s easy. Not only because she’s my all time fave but she also has the game that complements my game. Lindsay Davenport. I would love to be able to poach at net for her big groudies and I think it would be fun as Lindsay looks like she enjoys herself on the doubles court

My first pick for a doubles partner would be the best tactician and player, Martina Navratilova.
