If the Williams sisters are healthy, why can’t they follow the patriotic example set by Roddick and Blake, and haul themselves to Moscow to play Fed Cup? The Russians manage to field their very best players.

There is an answer, but it’s not PC.

Denise, what is the “not PC” answer? Whatever it is I’m sure it’s wrong!

Playing Fed Cup would be too much for their schedule. Venus and Serena are extremely patriotic, but there has to be a limit!

ANDY RODDICK CHOSE NOT TO PLAY THE OLYMPICS TO PLAY DAVIS CUP! Point is, tennis players can’t be everywhere they are needed. Geesh!

Will, Roddick chose not to go to the Olympics to focus on preparing for the US Open.

As with many contemporary athletes, the Williams sisters chose when and where to play. Their schedule isn’t that hectic so I think they may have other reasons.
