Dementieva and Anna Chakvetadze were named on Wednesday to Russia’s 2008 Olympic squad by team captain Shamil Tarpischev.

Tarpischev announced last month that Svetlana Kuznetsova and Maria Sharapova would also represent Russia in Beijing.

According to the Kommersant, Tarpischev has said that this will be his roster, barring any unforseen circumstances. He has also tapped Dinara Safina and Vera Zvonareva for one doubles team, and is expected to partner Svetlana Kuznetsova with either Dementieva or Chakvetadze.
