The 2008 US Olympic squad is expected to include four multiple Grand Slam champions.
Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Lindsay Davenport, and Liezel Huber will reportedly play for Team USA in the Summer Olympics.
According to the Associated Press, the Beijing bound team will also include Ashley Harkleroad, the heroine behind the United States’ quarterfinal win over Germany in April’s opening round of Fed Cup.
Unless the team roster changes, Venus, Serena, and Lindsay will compete in the singles event, while Huber and Harkleroad will team up for doubles. The Williams sisters will likely be named as the second doubles team.
Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Lindsay Davenport, and Liezel Huber own a combined total of thirty-nine singles and doubles Grand Slam titles.

why don’t Huber and Lisa Raymond play together? surely they’d make a great doubles team.
Also I had a dream last night that Eleni Daniilidou entered the men draw at the french open and won. it was really funny. it made me wonder if anyone else has strange dreams about tennis stars?

Speaking of Danillidou, she had been doing really well earlier this year before her knee gave out. It’ll be interesting to see if she can recapture her form once she finally returns.

I thought it was four singles players and a doubles team could play in olympics so why not put Huber and Raymond together for doubles and if I can still add up that a team of 6 the maximum allowed for any one country.
